संगणना विधि का वर्णन करते हुए उसके गुण दोष एवं उपयोगिता बताइए।
अनुसंधान क्षेत्र की संपूर्ण इकाइयां सामूहिक रूप से समग्र कहलाती है संगणना रीति के अंतर्गत समग्र की प्रत्येक इकाई का अध्ययन किया जाता है तथा उससे निष्कर्ष निकाला जाता है। भारत में जनगणना उत्पादन गणना इसी विधि से की जाती है।
संगणना रीति के गुण
1. वैज्ञानिक - यह प्रणाली अधिक वैज्ञानिक है क्योंकि इसमें समग्र कि प्रत्येक इकाइयों का अध्ययन किया जाता है।
2. विश्वसनीयता एवं शुद्धता - संगणना रीति द्वारा प्राप्त आंकड़े अधिक विश्वसनीय अशुद्ध होते हैं।
3. पक्षपात का अभाव - संगणना रीति में पक्षपात का अभाव की संभावना बहुत कम होती है।
4. विस्तृत सूचना - संगणना रीती में प्रत्येक क्षेत्र की प्रत्येक इकाई के विषय में विस्तृत सूचना प्राप्त हो जाती है।
5. इकाइयों की भिन्नता में उपयुक्त - संगणना रीति जब इकाइयां एक दूसरे से काफी भिन्न हो तो यह रीति काफी उपयुक्त होती है।
6. अप्रत्यक्ष जानकारियां - इस रीति से अप्रत्यक्ष रूप से ऐसी जानकारियां भी प्राप्त हो जाती है जो अनुसंधान में उपयोगी और महत्वपूर्ण होती है।
संगणना रीति की सीमाएं या दोष
1. खर्चीली विधि - संगणना विधि बहुत खर्चीली है और इसके लिए एक लंबे चौड़े संगठन और कर्मचारियों की आवश्यकता होती है।
2. अधिक श्रम एवं समय - संगणना विधि के प्रयोग में अधिक समय और परिश्रम की आवश्यकता पड़ती है।
3. सीमित क्षेत्र में उपयोगी - संगणना विधि केवल सीमित क्षेत्र वाले अनुसंधान में ही अधिक उपयुक्त होती है विस्तृत क्षेत्र होने की दशा में यह विधि और व्यवहारिक व अनुपयोगी बन जाती है।

Properties of Computation Method
1. Scientific - This method is more scientific because in it each and every units of the whole are studied.
2. Reliability and Accuracy – The more reliable the data obtained by the method of computation, the more accurate it is.
3. Lack of bias – The possibility of absence of bias in the computation method is very less.
4. Detailed Information - In the method of computation, detailed information is obtained about each unit of each area.
5. Appropriate in the difference of units - This method of computation is quite suitable when the units are significantly different from each other.
6. Indirect information - In this way such information is also obtained indirectly which is useful and important in research.
Limitations or Defects of Computation Method
1. Expensive Method - The computation method is very costly and requires a long extensive organization and staff.
2. More labor and time - More time and effort is required in the use of computation method.
3. Useful in limited area - Computation method is more suitable only in limited area research, in case of wide area, this method becomes more practical and unusable.
