प्रश्न 14- मान लीजिए कि बाजार में एक ही वस्तु के लिए दो उपभोक्ता हैं तथा उनके मांग फलन इस प्रकार हैंः-
D1(p)=20-p किसी भी ऐसी कीमत के लिए जो 20 से कम या बराबर हो तथा D1(p)=0 किसी ऐसी कीमत के लिए जो 20 से अधिक हो।
D2(p)=30-2p किसी भी ऐसी कीमत के लिए जो 15 से कम या बराबर हो और बाजार मांग फलन को ज्ञात कीजिए।
Suppose there are two consumers in the market for a good and their demand functions are as follows:
D1(p) = 20 - p for any price less than or equal to 20, and D1(p) = 0 at any price greater than 20.
D2(p) = 30 - 2p for any price less than or equal to 15 and D1(p) = 0 at any price greater than 15
Find out the market demand function.
उत्तर -
D1(p)=20-p समीकरण 1
D2(p)=30-2p समीकरण 2
दोनों समीकरणों का योग करने पर
D1(p)=20-p
D2(p)=30-2p

(D1+D2)=50-3p
एक ही वस्तु के लिए दो उपभोक्ताओं का मांग फलन दोनों समीकरणों का योग होगा अर्थात (D1+D2)=50-3p बाजार मांग होगी ।
इसी प्रकार बाजार मांग 15₹ से कम या बराबर वाली कीमत पर 50 - 3p होगी और 15 से अधिक कीमत पर शून्य (0) होगी।
Answer -
D1 (p) = 20-p equation 1
D2 (p) = 30-2p equation 2
Summing both the equations
D1 (p) = 20-p
D2 (p) = 30-2p

(D1 + D2) = 50-3p
The demand function of two consumers for the same item will be the sum of both equations i.e. (D1 + D2) = 50-3p will be the market demand.
Similarly the market demand would be 50 - 3p at a price less than or equal to 15 ₹ and zero (0) at a price greater than 15 ₹.
